Getting Regular

For some reason I am sort of getting regular in my blogs. Anyway, I've to mention here that I've completed two more short after 'Look at Me'.  They are " The Messengers" and " The Tower".  I made ' The Messengers' for a film class I took. It turned out good. I've yet to submit it for festivals.  My friend and DP, Mike Andrade, shot it in KC. I had a few people helping me on this project. I had a set designer who was really good and made me realize how a set designer can make a difference. The actors were good too. I then shot " The Tower" this July in between doing mixing location sound for a feature.  Its a very bizarre and a surrealistic story. I am in Post right now. And the primary editing is complete, but some motion graphics work need to be done, which one of friend's friend is helping me with. Also my another composer friend, Matt, is scoring for it. Hopefully it will be complete soon. But so far people have liked it. Anyway, I hope to continue blogging. See how it goes.

Long Time No see

Ok, I am here after a long time.  Good news is I have already graduated and the bad news is, I am looking for a job. Another good news is I am interning at Danetracks Inc. Its a pretty nice studio with a lot of cool people. I have been learning a lot.  I have also been working on a Indie feature  and have been implementing things that I have been learning at Danetracks. 

Something strange and wonderful happened a few months ago. I was googling myself and  found that I was the first runner up of a short story competition that was organized by the Missouri Literary Review. The competition was actually narrating a sort story that you have written. I came behind an Irish Guy. They never informed me or at least I didn't get their correspondence. Anyway that made me really happy. Check out his link.

Screening

Well, There was a screening for my short on wednesday at the IFC(Independent Film Makers Coalition) meeting. It went pretty well though it was a nail biting wait for me. It was a short films presentation night and my film was slated to be screened second. Everything went well with the first movie but the DVD player wouldnt read my DVD. After a very anxious 5 minute wait they somehow got the DVD to work. But the irony was as soon as the film started, I wanted it to end. Anyway I had some comments and some suggestions. But overall, most of them seemed to like it. I wasn't very happy with the audio . So I have remixed it and I am trying out some minor editing stuff today. I want to complete this project by this weekend. Oh. My film's name is 'Look at Me'.

Welcome!!! Welcome!!

This is my first blog. So just trying it out. Hopefully its a good experience. So lets see what I can blog------ Yeah. Films. I am almost finished with my first short. Its about 12 minutes(13+ with titles). Its been quite an experience especially as I edited it mostly and am doing the sound too. I have learned a lot and am slowly understanding the process of film making. Its exciting. Actually I can't forget the first time I said 'ACTION', on the first day of shoot. I was fully thrilled and I enjoyed saying it. Its such a good feeling to say 'action' and look in the monitor to see the actor(s) doing what you want to see. Anyway enough of my boasting. Hopefully I will start blogging regularly. Who knows I might discover something new in this process!!!
